Geographically it covers an area of approximately 5790 Hectares or 14 310 acres. As of 2019 the NSW 2261 area is home to just under 55,000 residents.
Bateau Bay Square is the largest shopping centre within the area. Twenty minutes SW you will find Erina Fair which is a major centre and offers pretty much everything that you could want. Or head 15 minutes NW and you’ll find yourself at Westfield Tuggerah. Just one kilometre from Westfield is access to the M1.
One of the things that most Coastie’s love about living in this community is the lifestyle. With Tuggerah Lake and several surf beaches within 10 – 15 minutes there is an abundance of water activities on offer. Be it surfing, fishing or exploring many of our rock pools with the kids or grandkids, there truly is something here for everyone.
If a picnic or a cycle is more your thing, head down to the Tuggerah Lakes Cycleway. Catering for all ages and fitness levels this 12 kilometre shared pathway stretches along the edge of Tuggerah Lake from Chittaway through to The Entrance. It is very popular with locals and visitors alike.

Midway between Sydney and Newcastle there is a tonne of activities and things to do which make the 2261 postcode area ideal for either a holiday or a more permanent move.
If you decide to relocate you can be confident that real estate in 2261 offers something for all tastes and budgets. You will find a range of properties that are suitable for everyone.
The great thing about this area is the diversity of the properties here. Within a rough 20 kilometre radius you can secure anything from a sprawling acreage property, through to a single level villa on a small low maintenance parcel of land.

Perhaps a unit with an ocean view is more your style? If so, then The Entrance might be the place for you. If you love the café scene, browsing through vintage shops or watching the sun set then Long Jetty needs to be on your short list.
If you’re into golf or surfing then Shelly Beach might be of interested. And if you love waterfront living then you need to check out Chittaway Point.
